Lets see our community opinions?
Thank you in advance guys!

You seem to have integrated yourself rather well in the community, which is always great, but from what you have done in forum in your time here, I can't really say anything about you. It's very good that there is nothing bad to say about you, but if that is the only good thing, is that enough to evaluate if you would be a good addition to the Moderator team? I have seen you reply in discussions, short and to the point, yet it's rare, as vast majority of your posts are from taking part in forum events. While it is great that you actively take part in events, what is not so great is that you don't seem to be too involved in the forum itself outside the events. Perhaps you feel too new to engage, which is understandable, but to me, if I was in your shoes, it would feel essential to involve myself everywhere I can, show that I am an asset, that I can help and do so even if I don't have the position. Dress for the job you want not the job you have kind of thing.

Your mentioned strengths and weaknesses are very vague and generic. "I wasn't so sure if I would make the team, nor that I wanted to" is not a great way to reason your desire to apply, it looks more like personal interest rather than genuine desire to contribute to the community.

Despite the mentioned, it is great that you are honest and openly admit that your past experience was so long ago that you can't call it experience at this point and seeing how you said that you are willing to learn, this is not an issue whatsoever, nobody knows how to ride a bike if they have not spent time mastering it. Your English proficiency is good, which is very valuable and arguably one of the key points for English speaking forum Moderation.

Based on your application as it is now, and your time spent in the forum since registration, it is hard to generate an opinion about you.

Instead of giving an opinion now, I would like to see you improve on your application, elaborate on strengths with a specific example or two, such as past situations where you handled challenges or resolved conflicts, as 29 years old guy you should have more than enough real life experience in work environment where you have faced challenges. Let us get to know you better. There is no need to write a novel like I did now, just extract the main idea of the story, for example tell us that you are good at x because you faced x challenge more than once and it came easy to you to solve this kind of problem, so you consider that you have the x ability to the point. Be proud of your talents. This is just an example of course, use your own words and imagination.

In addition, I would suggest that you rephrase the why should we hire you part, try to focus on what you bring to the table, instead of saying that you apply because there is a position available. As it stands now, I don't see enthusiasm.

I am in no way trying to say that your application is bad, it simply needs an improvement to be better, to tell us more about you, it is great that you applied and I salute the courage to do so despite being unsure about your chances. If you don't ask, answer is always no. If or when you add to your application, I will edit my reply to give an opinion on your updated application. To take my advice or not is up to you, good luck regardless.

Edit after provided reply: Your reasoning is on point and reaction to constructive criticism is as it should be, many would argue back, but you reflected and improved, which is what I wanted to see, as it is one of the most important parts of learning. It is good to be straight and to the point, I am the same, but sometimes more context is required. I like the reply that I saw, so I support your application to see what you are made of if approved to join the Mod team.

I must say, an honest and sincere response in all sense of words, I gladly accept your comments, more so ever the parts with things that are not done good enough, or with enough effort from my side.
I wanted to be straight, like I am in real life: if I don’t like you, I’ll state it right in front of you, it’s who I am and who made me till today.

I’m a graduate of Automotive Manufacturing Engineer, and from this point of view, too many words for me are useless. I’m cut to the chase, but there’s where you opened my eyes and I truly am grateful for that: I know my capabilities, and now my worth and if I want to make something, I’ll sure make it happen, but of course you don’t know that, because we’re not in real life here, friendly chatting at evening with a beer and a snack, discussing life problems, work problems and family, how we’ve built our success and lifestyle.. that’s a part that I just skipped it in with some lousy lazy words, just to not let that topic unwritten..

What can I bring to the table:
- a devoted member, one who likes to help in all terms that he knows, and even if I'm not aware of the topic, I will search, ask, grind myself into that thing to be able to help the members, also boost my knowledge :)
- a member who is funny, always tryin' to search the good in the bad, to be cheerful and get the best out of others
- a guy who you can rely on when heavy works come, who can help not just members of the community, but also staff if somebody is in need (the quote from Captain America: "you're not the guy who'd make the sacrifice play, to lay down on a wire and let the other guy crawl over you" - well I fit in the opposite of that quote from my perspective)

Re-reading the reason that I first stated for the hiring matter, I'd say now it rather looks selfish, undeserving of joining the team, but in my defense, I really didn't know how to state it, because words aren't my strong point as it seems, but the actual matter is: I'd really love to try the best out of me joining the MOD team, trying to help all members of this community, but at first sight I was unsure to apply or not, because the lack of experience I have and that we are a very big family over here that needs the proper guidance (since I didn't had all the tools in my mind to know all the facts, I started to see myself as unworthy, but hey, everyone started from somewhere, and with the guidance of the staff, for sure I'm gonna learn what it takes <3 )

good luck!, everyone needs a chance! and if he is good at his job, he needs to prove it!
Without seeing his work, you won’t be able to decide... I’ve known you for a long time, you’re good and responsive! I vote for you!

Let's give them a chance. Based on what I know about this player, they are kind and have no bad record.
They are qualified, in my opinion, with a 9/10 in English. The staff moderators can guide and teach them as needed In the formats used in the IMU forum.

For me Yes

This guy is funny in a way to play with, genuine with his words and actions. I don't remember having a bad relationship with this guy. Also we don't know what he gotta do if we ain't gonna try. So I say lets give him a chance to prove something for himself and for the server. If he bad, then kick him out lol

Hi,being part of Staff especially in MOD Team.
Personally, Only I want to see the answer of this question. why should we hire you?
  • Why should we hire you? Answer: At first, I wasn't so sure if I would make the team, nor that I wanted to, but I saw that there was a spot open since some time now, and having some spare time, I really think that I could help out the Forum, since I'm a fan of Gaming Forums, always liked it, I'd want to try and help, to be guided by some nice people into how to make the job done!
I'll give my opinion here.
That's right you wasn't so sure if you gonna be a Staff member or not.
If I were you, I never said this word. instead you give us assurance if you are eligible to join in MOD Team.
and for that I/we wont give doubt about you application.
  • I'm stating that my knowledge and experience as a Moderator dates way waayyyy back in the old times of 2010 I think, so experience counts as 0 :hahaaha:
I think you're not serious with this statement!
even if its Old Time if you really had experience how to handle the position
you wrote it as well even slightly experienced.

I wanted to be straight, like I am in real life: if I don’t like you, I’ll state it right in front of you, it’s who I am and who made me till today.

well, I never use this behavior if I were you :)
that's all I can say or this is an advice to you ..

Anyways
in all of my Opinion, I don't say NO to you.
we have process and trial if you are eligible..

Good Luck to your application Mate.

Hi there, Shanks is a charismatic, friendly and very sincere person. I think that most of us here know him and know that he is like that. I have known him for many months and I don't remember having had any misunderstandings with him. I am sure that he could do a good job as a MOD and with another higher rank. So why not give him a month of trial so we can see what he is made of?

I wish you good luck!!

For me, yes.

Hello @Shaanks

I'm glad to see people taking a little time to help this game.

You have potential for this job, you are a good person and I see that you are very active lately.

Your application thread is very impeccable and I don't think the staff will take too long to give you this opportunity. I believe in your work and effort. I wish you all the best and good luck<3

Seeing you with a purple name is awesome, hopefully you'll be given a chance by our beloved admins/owner, it's a YES for me.

Hello there @Shaanks

Regarding your application I would like to express my opinion on a few points I marked as imporant.

*English level - Very, very good. This is very important in terms of communication within the team and outside of it. Being able to meet certain requirements in communication is very good for each applicant, so I praise you on this.

*Application format - The format is simple, short and informative. I'd write a bigger application if it was my first one, but everyone is different. It's good that you included a good amount of information it. For future reference, longer posts with expressing yourself even in a complicated manner is reccomended!

*Availability - You have provided more than the minimum time which is required to be a staff member, which in my book nets you up a good ammount of points. We all have personal lifes but it's important to know that someone is willing to invest his personal time in here this much. Nice.

*Straightforwardness - I like direct people who speak honestly, but being very direct is a doubled edged knife. You need to find a way to communicate with our staff members and leaders despite personal preferences. Here we believe in TRUE PROFESSIONALISM and I encourage you to be very professional and discreet about your personal likes or dislikes.

Overall you seem friendly, ready to work, learn and be helpful to the Mod Team

I am sure Khaled will make the right decision!

Good luck @Shaanks
